What is your favorite book and why?
In 2003, my dad recommended I read Moneyball, by Michael Lewis. It blew my mind. Moneyball and the story of Billy Beane’s Oakland A’s rethinking the key pillars required to win baseball games. It set in motion my view that one can engineer fast, profitable company growth.
What do you do in your spare time?
I am a runner. I attack the science of running through data and analytics in the Strava and Garmin applications. I love training anywhere in the world in all kinds of weather, and race a variety of distances including marathons, half marathons, 10k’s, and 5k’s.
What is your favorite mobile application and why?
Siri, the voice-enabled assistant on the iPhone. I spent 16 years in the voice recognition industry and played a part in Siri’s exciting story. Love it or hate it, Siri changed the world and catapulted voice recognition and natural language understanding into the mainstream.
