“Processing Life-Saving Data Quickly and Securely with Cloud SAP” Tells the Story of Symmetry’s Work for New England BioLabs
Milwaukee, WI — Symmetry, a leading enterprise application management and cloud hosting solutions provider, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Grand Prize in the 2017 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Partner Ready “Service Provider Award for Customer Excellence.” The HPE Service Provider Awards for Customer Excellence is a program that celebrates HPE cloud service provider partners and their customers on business outcomes.
Symmetry’s customer, New England BioLabs, Inc. (NEB), is the industry leader in the discovery and production of enzymes for molecular biology applications and now offers the largest selection of recombinant and native enzymes for genomic research. “Processing Life-Saving Data Quickly and Securely with Cloud SAP” was the theme of Symmetry’s submission.
Symmetry, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Service Provider – Gold Partner, is a recognized leader in management of mission critical applications, cloud-hosted solutions and SAP HANA. Symmetry gives customers access to the world’s cutting-edge technology, surrounded by expert and certified support. This includes hosting and cloud services, technical administration, implementation, upgrades and migrations, as well as project-based services and multiple layers of security to uphold data integrity. Solutions can include data recovery services to keep businesses fully operational in the event of a disaster.
As a global leader in the discovery, development and commercialization of recombinant and native enzymes for genomic research, New England BioLabs (NEB) is an innovator of technologies from basic molecular biology through to sample preparation for next-generation sequencing and high throughput genomics for the life sciences industry. Headquartered in the US with seven global subsidiaries, they are at the forefront of medical and technological developments.
With rapid growth came the need for greater access to leading edge database technology as NEB sought to elevate the sophistication of business processes critical to their success. This necessitated the need for Symmetry to implement a multi-step migration of NEB’s infrastructure first to SAP Business Suite on HANA, then S/4HANA hosted in the Symmetry Cloud.
To move the data into the new environment, Symmetry was able to expedite the migration and have SAP HANA running in just a few weeks. This allowed NEB to harness new levels of predefined business reporting capabilities and replace their legacy reporting system. More importantly, the security services wrapped around the platform protect NEB’s business while providing peace of mind.
“The implementation went flawlessly and was a complete non-event,” said Sharon Kaiser, CIO at New England BioLabs. “The migration to Suite on HANA was the precursor for the final stage of implementing S/4HANA 1610, which began just 2 months after the implementation of Suite on HANA.”
