BOSTON, MA – September 19, 2016 – Great Hill Partners, LLC, today announced the promotions of Nick Cayer, Rafael Cofiño and Peter Garran to Partner. Great Hill is a Boston-based private equity firm that has raised $3.8 billion in commitments since inception in 1998, financing the expansion, recapitalization or acquisition of high-growth companies in a wide range of sectors in business-to-business and business-to-consumer industries, including software, financial and healthcare technology, eCommerce, digital media and internet infrastructure, among others.
The new Partners join Partner, Chris Busby, and Managing Partners, Chris Gaffney, Michael Kumin, Mark Taber and Matt Vettel in completing the investing of its most recent $1.1 billion vehicle, Great Hill Equity Partners V, L.P., which was raised in 2014. Great Hill has deployed over $300 million in the past year into six new portfolio companies while successfully exiting a number of investments, including the recently announced sale of DealerRater.com to Cars.com
Mr. Cayer joined Great Hill in 2006 and focuses on investments in the financial technology, business and consumer services, and software sectors. He currently serves on the Board of AffiniPay, Chrome River, NMI, Vanco, and BlueSnap and formerly was involved with Accelerated Payment Technologies, Custom House and PayChoice. Mr. Cayer studied finance at Bentley College where he graduated with honors.
Mr. Cofiño joined Great Hill in 2012 with a focus on opportunities in the Internet, software, health care, and business and consumer services sectors. He currently serves on the Board of Qualifacts and RxBenefits, and was also involved with the firm’s investments in DealerRater and Wayfair, Inc. Mr. Cofiño earned a degree in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Garran joined Great Hill in 2008 and focuses on investments in the Internet, media, marketing services, retail & consumer and software sectors. He serves on the Board of CliqStudios, PuppySpot, Momondo, YogaWorks, The Shade Store and Educaedu, and was previously involved with All Web Leads, Spark Networks, Credibility Corp., BuscaPé and Central Security Group. Mr. Garran graduated with honors from Harvard College where he studied history and literature.
