Mobile industry veteran gains backing to build enterprise mobility investment strategy
BOSTON, MA September 30, 2013– Great Hill Partners LLC, a leading private equity firm in Boston, has partnered with Chuck Goldman to acquire companies in the enterprise mobility industry. In his role as Executive-in-Residence, Mr. Goldman, a mobile industry veteran who most recently founded Apperian, Inc., will identify companies whose products and services can help move enterprises to a more mature, ROI-driven phase of enterprise mobility. According to Mr. Goldman, "The pivotal opportunity is to create a one stop shop for enterprises as they mobilize. Mr. Goldman brings over 20 years of experience in enterprise application development and mobility platforms. He founded Apperian in 2009, and has spent the past four years working with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Bessemer Venture Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, Intel Capital and Boston's CommonAngels to build Apperian into the market leader in Mobile Application Management (MAM). As Apperian's founder and early CEO, Mr. Goldman helped to raise over $28 million in venture capital and built a mobile ecosystem of developers, brands, retailers, enterprises and integrators. Prior to Apperian, Mr. Goldman was a Director at Apple. There, he helped launch the iPhone in 2007 and managed Apple’s iPhone Enterprise Beta Program. Mr. Goldman also served as Apple's project lead to bring Steve Job's vision of 1:1 computing in education to life by deploying the State of Maine's "1:1 Laptop Program." Prior to Apple, Mr. Goldman founded and sold two technology companies.
